The Captive Trajectory Simulation (CTS) test technique was developed at Calspan's Transonic Wind Tunnel (TWT) in December 1958. This technique provided a capability to study the behavior of aerodynamic vehicle, jettisoned pylon, or other "stores" in the influence flow-field of a launch aircraft (carrier). Our extensive experience with store trajectory simulation & testing provides Calspan with a knowledge base that can develop computer simulation that uses flow field aerodynamic loads to predict store motions based on mass and damping properties, and accurately verify store position depending on aerodynamic interactions.
